And since it is the New Year (old style), we are further making the totals of the year that has passed by – In short about API’s work in 2019:

Organized the 2019 Mass Media Forum, the most important event of the country’s journalist community;

Continued the STOP FALS! Campaign, including the meetings with regional media consumers and refuting fakes and manipulations on the website Stopfals.md;

Held the regional conference “Disinformation as Propaganda Tool: Trends and Regional Impact”;

Held a series of topical trainings on the professionalization of journalists (Promotion on Social Media, Mobile Journalism, Data Journalism, Filming and Editing Election Debates, Multimedia and Storytelling, Successful Marketing with Little Money etc.);

Launched and carried out Management and Publicity School for Regional Media;

Promoted gender equality through national journalist competition “Click for Gender Equality 2019”;

Stimulated investigative journalism through the national competition “Investigative Reports of 2019”;

Facilitated the participation of a number of journalists in study visits to Germany Poland, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Belgium, Sweden, Georgia;

Monitored the integrity of civil servants and candidates for the 2019 parliamentary and local elections via the portal Moldovacurata.md;

Issued a number of publications, studies, reports and supplements: “Black Book of Public Money Waste,” “Watch the News You Use”, “The Alphabet Book of Pro-Kremlin Disinformation”, “Study of Rural Media Consumer Perception of Disinformation,” “Europe for Me”;

Facilitated the work of the Press Council as a national journalistic self-regulatory structure and completed the Moldovan Journalist’s Code of Ethics;

Advocated for media law improvement, including developed draft laws in the area.
