​The German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ) and the Association of Independent Press (API) in partnership with the Center for Investigative Journalism of Moldova (CIJM) has awarded prizes to seven investigative journalists, winners of a special competition for members of the investigative journalist network, created and strengthened in 2023-2024. The award ceremony took place during the "Forum of Investigative Journalists of the Republic of Moldova" held in Chișinău on 27 and 28 March 2024.

12 persoane din diferite regiuni ale țării au fost desemnate câștigătoare ale concursului „Țintește falsul!”, desfășurat de Asociația Presei Independente (API) și portalul Stopfals.md. Timp de o lună, atât cât a durat competiția, cei 12 câștigători au expediat pe platforma https://semnale.stopfals.md/ro/semnale/new aproape 600 de linkuri către articole din mass-media și informații de pe rețelele sociale care, în opinia lor, sunt false, parțial false sau distorsionate. După preverificarea de către Stopfals.md, peste 150 dintre semnale au fost aprobate, iar juriul concursului „Țintește falsul!” a decis să ofere cinci premii mari și șapte premii de încurajare celor mai activi participanți. Câștigătorii, cu vârste cuprinse între 16 și 74 de ani, au primit cadouri cu imprimeurile campaniei STOP FALS! și diverse materiale promoționale.

Cei care urmăresc activitatea și apreciază eforturile Asociației Presei Independente (API) de promovare a dezvoltării durabile a jurnalismului de calitate sunt încurajați să redirecționeze către API 2% din impozitul pe venit până la 30 aprilie 2024. Începând cu anul 2024, depunerea Declarației persoanei fizice cu privire la impozitul pe venit este posibilă doar on-line.

Sixteen more media professionals and civic activists from all over the country, including from the left bank of Nistru River, strengthened their knowledge on accurate reporting of gender- and conflict–sensitive topics. The training session "Words that Matter: Strategies for Accurate Reporting of Gender- and Conflict–Sensitive Issues," similarly to the one in December 2023, are part of the "Media for Peace and Equality on Both Sides of Nistru" Program. The training conducted by UN Women and API took place on 24-25 January 2024 in one of the resorts in Vadul lui Vodă.

More than 500 vulnerable young people with difficult socio-economic backgrounds from Romania, Hungary and the Republic of Moldova participated in media literacy activities through the InMedia project to help them deal with information disorder. The inclusive media literacy materials developed by the Centre for Independent Journalism, together with the Turul Madár Association and the Centre for Civic Resources in Romania, the Artemisszió Foundation in Hungary and the Independent Press Association in the Republic of Moldova are now available for free to the general public. The resources published in Romanian, English and Hungarian can be accessed on the project's website, medialiteracy.ro.

The Association of Independent Press (API) presented the results of the second round of media monitoring from a diversity and inclusion perspective at an event on 22 December. The event was organized by API as part of the project "Active Citizens, Empowering Communities, Phase II", component "Journalists for Diversity and Inclusion: Accountability and Commitment," funded by the governments of Sweden and Switzerland.

Media outlets have shortcomings in planning and producing media stories about corruption in some areas of public interest. The number of thematic materials is relatively small, short news stories are predominantly published to the detriment of stories with elements of analysis of the corruption phenomenon, and some media outlets choose to take over articles of questionable quality from other sources. These and other findings are contained in the third report on monitoring media coverage of corruption in some areas of public interest, presented by API at a press club. The event took place on 19 December 2023 and was organized in partnership with the Centre for Investigative Journalism (CIJM).

Participanții la ediția a opta a Forumului Mass-Media din Republica Moldova, care s-a desfășurat la 4-5 decembrie 2023 în municipiul Chișinău, au aprobat proiectul Rezoluției Forumului (a se vedea mai jos). Până joi, 14 decembrie 2023 inclusiv, jurnaliștii și instituțiile mass-media din țară pot transmite propuneri de completare a textului Rezoluției pe adresa electronică a Consiliului de Presă (consiliuldepresa@gmail.com).

Peste 160 de jurnaliști, editori, manageri media, reprezentanți ai organizațiilor și asociațiilor de media, profesori și studenți de la facultățile de jurnalism participă la Forumul Mass-Media 2023, care a început luni la Chișinău. La evenimentul care va dura două zile, au fost invitați și reprezentanți ai instituțiilor publice și autorităților de reglementare, experți naționali și de peste hotare.

The Association of Independent Press (API) has awarded the winners of the national competition of journalistic materials promoting diversity and social inclusion, 2nd edition, during a side event of the Media Forum 2023 – “Posaganda for Human Rights." The competition was organized under the project "Active Citizens, Thriving Communities, Phase II," funded by the governments of Switzerland and Sweden, component "Journalists for Diversity and Inclusion: Accountability and Commitment."
