Stopfals.md Becomes a Member of the European Fact-Checking Standards Network (EFCSN)
The Stopfals.md portal, the online platform of the STOP FALS Campaign against False and Biased Information, run by the Association of Independent Press (API), became a member of the European Fact-Checking Standards Network (EFCSN) on 10 July 2026.
The decision to admit Stopfals.md to EFCSN followed an evaluation of the portal's compliance with the European Code of Standards for Independent Fact-Checking Organisations. Membership in EFCSN confirms that Stopfals.md meets European standards on editorial independence, transparency, fact-checking methodology, and professional ethics.
As an EFCSN member, Stopfals.md gains access to a European community of organisations specialising in fact-checking, opportunities for international collaboration, and the exchange of expertise in countering disinformation.
EFCSN currently brings together more than 60 fact-checking organisations from across Europe. Stopfals.md is the first fact-checking platform from the Republic of Moldova to become a verified member of the network.
Stopfals.md was launched by API in December 2017. In April 2023, the portal received the European Union Delegation's award for the best anti-disinformation project at the first Anti-Disinformation Awards Gala. Since 2020, Stopfals.md has also been a member of the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) and a signatory to the IFCN Code of Principles.
