API in cooperation with International Media Support (IMS) is looking for  Digital Marketing Content Producer / Strategist in Ukraine

 

Summary

 

This is a chance for you to be part of the first project to use modern digital marketing techniques to combat disinformation. So that means it's the first counter-disinformation project that has a chance of actually working. It's an exciting project with lots of room for creativity and experimentation. And you get to do something a lot more interesting and important than selling people stuff they don't particularly need to impress people they don't particularly like.

 

Key functions and key responsibilities

 

  • You will work with media brands to help them develop strategy and content, and then test that content, and iterate for growth. So that means:

  • You will analyze audience data

  • You will look at existing content and engagement data

  • You will come up with strategies based on the above as to how the media brand can grow engagement (in collaboration with the brand)

  • You will help turn those strategies into content

  • You will at least be able to do mockups to communicate your ideas

  • Ideally you will be able to quickly take an idea from concept to execution. Design doesn't need to be perfect, but it does need to be good enough to impact audience behavior.

  • You will help members of the media brand's existing team to up their game in terms of content creation and audience first strategy.

  • And you'll do all the above to reangle content and ideas to impact a variety of audience segments.

 

Qualifications and skills

 

You need to demonstrate experience with growing traction or growing product sales. If you've done significant growth of a youtube or tiktok or insta channel, then we’d also love to talk with you. It's fine if you did this as part of a team. It's also fine if you did it alone.

There's far too few people who are humble and interested enough to dig deep and find real solutions to complex problems. If you are one of them, please get in touch.

  • You’re nice to work with - you're sweet with people who don't understand this stuff as well as you do yet, and you can explain it eloquently enough to get them on board with your ideas.

  • You like bouncing ideas with people.

  • You don't need to win debates for the sake of winning - you want the best idea to win, and you have no problem saying when someone else's idea is stronger than yours.

  • You're interested in politics

  • You're not a big Putin fan

  • You speak and write English and Ukrainian.

 

Duration and location

 

1 year full time (December 2023 - November 2024).

 

Remote working with regular offline visits of media outlets located in Kyiv.

Summary

 

This is a chance for you to be part of the first project to use modern digital marketing techniques to combat disinformation. It's the first counter fake news project that has a chance of having impact. It's an exciting project with lots of room for creativity and experimentation. And you get to do something a lot more interesting and important than selling people stuff they don't particularly need to impress people they don't particularly like.

 

Key functions and key responsibilities

 

  • You will work with media brands, strategists and content producers to target content creatively

  • You'll help analyze data and turn insights into actionable advice for strategists and content producers.

  • You'll think creatively about what impact means for a project like this, and you'll get deep into creative development of targeting and segmenting that goes way beyond lookalilke audiences, including workarounds for ever-shrinking meta functionality, and amyeb even workarounds for telegram targeting (if that is even possible)

  • You'll help with experiment design so we know the results we're getting back actually mean something.

  • You won't have a problem calling bullshit when you see it.

  • You'll be flexible and big picture orientated enough to understand where tests can have value even if the data isn’t super clean.

 

Qualifications and skills

You need to demonstrate experience with complex digital marketing projects. We look forward to hearing all the nerdy details of how you have helped grow traction or product sales, how you identified and overcame problems, how you designed experiments, how and why you chose to target the way you did, and how you iterated to get successful outcomes.

  • You're smart and analytical, obvs.
