Building Sustainable and Inclusive Peace, Strengthening Trust and Social Cohesion in Moldova
Strengthening media capacities for coverage of gender and conflict sensitive issues, promoting social cohesion and peace-building processes from human rights and gender equality perspectives by providing organisational development assistance and support with media content production, training sessions, networking development with participation and involvement of beneficiaries from both sides of Nistru River.
1. Launch application for participation in project activities;
2. Organize a cycle of trainings for program beneficiaries on gender and conflict-sensitive media coverage/communication;
3. Develop practical tools to support and stimulate gender and conflict sensitive media coverage/reporting;
4. Organize a competition to encourage the capacity of media organizations/outlets to engage in peacebuilding efforts from human security and gender perspectives;
5. Support joint initiatives of beneficiaries on both sides of Nistru River in content production;
6. Organize and run an open competition for media professionals to stimulate their efforts and contribution to peace building and social cohesion;
7. Organize and conduct dialogue, confidence building and exchange of experience events on project’s priority themes.

31 January 2024Sixteen more media professionals and civic activists from all over the country, including from the left bank of Nistru River, strengthened their knowledge on accurate reporting of gender- and conflict–sensitive topics. The training session "Words that Matter: Strategies for Accurate Reporting of Gender- and Conflict–Sensitive Issues," similarly to the one in December 2023, are part of the "Media for Peace and Equality on Both Sides of Nistru" Program. The training conducted by UN Women and API took place on 24-25 January 2024 in one of the resorts in Vadul lui Vodă.

02 March 2024Fifty journalists, PR and public communication specialists, photographers and civil society activists from different parts of the country, including the left bank of Nistru River, strengthened their professional capacities in reporting on gender and conflict-sensitive issues during a cycle of three trainings conducted by UN Women and API. The final training took place from 29 February to 1 March 2024, at one of the resorts in Vadul lui Vodă.

20 November 2024More than 35 journalists, freelancers, civic activists and experts have discussed in Chișinău the media's involvement in promoting gender equality, its contribution to overcoming conflicts and strengthening social cohesion and peace journalism on both sides of Nistru River. During the forum "Media for Peace and Equality on Both Sides of Nistru River, Coming to An End: What We Set Out To Achieve and What We Have Achieved," held by API and UN Women, on 19 November 2024, the totals of the program were made and the most active beneficiaries were awarded.
