The Association of Independent Press (API) has awarded the winners of the national competition of journalistic materials promoting diversity and social inclusion, 2nd edition, during a side event of the Media Forum 2023 – “Posaganda for Human Rights." The competition was organized under the project "Active Citizens, Thriving Communities, Phase II," funded by the governments of Switzerland and Sweden, component "Journalists for Diversity and Inclusion: Accountability and Commitment."

"Posaganda for Human Rights" was the title of the award ceremony for journalists, which encourages the media to promote human dignity and eliminate various forms of discrimination and social marginalization. The event included the awarding of prizes to the winners of the competition organized by API from May 10 to July 31, 2023. Participants also took part in a quiz on how to ensure respect for human rights in journalistic materials.

Guido Beltrani, Director of the Swiss Cooperation Office in the Republic of Moldova, stressed the importance of ensuring a diverse and inclusive media landscape that guarantees access to reliable information and civic participation for all, especially for those who are or feel excluded, vulnerable or at risk of being left behind. "United in diversity" is a powerful message for the Swiss people. It is a strong foundation for resilience, peace and prosperity. As a development partner of Moldova, Switzerland supports media institutions and journalists as part of a program to promote civic and community engagement, improve the quality of media coverage of vulnerable or discriminated groups, and provide them with platforms to express and debate their views."
