The efficiency of the national integrity system and the activity of the National Integrity Authority

Between August 2019 and January 2020, API monitored the efficiency of the national integrity system and the activity of the National Integrity Authority (ANI). The API experts evaluated the legal provisions regarding the control of the assets and interests of persons with public positions, the legislative and institutional deficiencies and barriers to the practical application of the provisions. The experts also monitored the institutionalization process of the ANI and the evaluation of the control activity. These activities were included in the two monitoring reports, the first published in 2019, and the second in 2020. The reports contain important conclusions and recommendations addressed to decision-makers in Parliament and the Government, but also ANI and the Integrity Council (CI). The monitoring was carried out within the project "Advocacy for the promotion of the integrity of public officials", implemented by API, with the financial support of the Soros-Moldova Foundation/Good Governance Department. The actions undertaken within the project are the responsibility of the implementers and do not necessarily reflect the position of the Soros-Moldova Foundation.
