Statement by organisations participating in the project “Better working conditions for journalists” led by Fojo Media Institute and implemented in the Western Balkans, Eastern Europe, Central Asia and the Caucasus We are expressing solidarity and support for our colleagues – journalists and media workers – in Ukraine, who are taking great personal and often life-threatening risks to disseminate accurate and reliable information. At this critical moment, the personal, psychological and digital security of our colleagues is of utmost importance. We recognise that they are crucial sources of information. We condemn the cyber-attacks, disinformation, and political agenda-driven information, and we are joining our international colleagues and standing in solidarity with independent Russian media. Many of the independent media in Russia were closed down or blocked but journalists still continue to report the truth in these unprecedented conditions. We are joining calls to the international community to provide assistance to our colleagues who are reporting from the front lines of the war zone in Ukraine. We are calling for support of the free flow of accurate information towards the public – it is crucial that free media can continue to provide factual information. We condemn the aggression, violence, and danger that has put our colleagues in Ukraine in grave danger. We thank journalists and all media workers in Ukraine for their professionalism in reporting and commend them for their invaluable work in bringing us the truth. – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – Заявление организаций, участвующих в проекте «Улучшение условий труда для журналистов», возглавляемом медиаинститутом Fojo и реализуемом на Западных Балканах, в Восточной Европе, Центральной Азии и на Кавказе Мы выражаем солидарность и поддержку нашим коллегам – журналистам и работникам СМИ в Украине, которые идут на большой, зачастую смертельный риск, чтобы донести достоверную и надежную информацию. В этот критический момент личная, психологическая и цифровая безопасность наших коллег имеет первостепенное значение. Мы убеждены, что они являются важнейшими источниками информации. Мы осуждаем кибератаки, дезинформацию и политически-ангажированную информацию и выражаем солидарность с независимыми российскими СМИ, многие из которых были закрыты или заблокированы, но часть из них продолжают сообщать правду в этих беспрецедентных условиях. Мы присоединяемся к призывам международного сообщества оказать помощь нашим коллегам, которые ведут репортажи из зоны боевых действий в Украине. Мы призываем к поддержке свободного потока достоверной информации для общества: крайне важно, чтобы свободные СМИ могли продолжать предоставлять точные факты. Мы осуждаем агрессию и насилие, которые поставили наших коллег в Украине в смертельную опасность. Мы благодарим журналистов и всех работников украинских СМИ за профессионализм в освещении событий и за их неоценимую работу, за то, что они доносят до нас правду.
