Project Title: Building Resilience to Crisis-Driven Disinformation in Southern Moldova

Implementation period: April 15 – August 31, 2026

Project Goal: To mitigate the impact of disinformation in the Republic of Moldova by strengthening societal resilience to manipulation, particularly among communities in the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia (Gagauz-Yeri) and Taraclia district.

 

To equip target audiences with practical skills to critically evaluate information, recognize disinformation narratives, and engage with credible sources, contributing to more informed decision-making and increased resistance to malign influence

  • API will produce 20 fact-checking articles (in Romanian and Russian) and 10 videos to counter disinformation related to the energy crisis in Moldova, the consequences of Russia's aggression against Ukraine, and the elections in Gagauzia and Taraclia district. The content will be published on www.stopfals.md and promoted through five social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Telegram, TikTok, and YouTube);

  • Organize and conduct public debates on current issues and crises that are being exploited to spread disinformation. Six public discussions will be organized in Comrat, Vulcănești, Ceadîr-Lunga, and Taraclia, as well as in the two largest villages in the two regions;

  • Publish and distribute an informational leaflet about the state of emergency and the energy crisis. The leaflet will be produced in Romanian and Russian and printed in 2,000 copies;

  • Produce a series of 12 radio programs debunking disinformation, false claims, and speculation. The project will be carried out in partnership with Radio Moldova Comrat.
