MY FIRST VOTE. CIVIC AND VOTER EDUCATION FOR YOUNG FIRST-TIME VOTERS

Project purpose: 

The aim of the project is to stimulate activism and increase the involvement of young people in the life of the local community and the country as a whole, through targeted civic and electoral education activities among those who have reached the age of majority after the last elections or are about to turn 18 by 30 November 2014, when ordinary parliamentary elections will be held in the Republic of Moldova.

Increased citizen activism of young first-time voters;


Educate active citizens to get involved in the life of society and to work for the democratic development of the Republic of Moldova.

Organizing and conducting thematic civic and electoral education events with the participation of young people in the 12th grade of high school and other young people who are going to vote for the first time in the parliamentary elections in November 2014;


Inauguration and maintenance of the special column "My first vote" in 15 national and local Romanian and Russian language newspapers, which will publish information for young people on the elections;


Creation and updating of a sub-page on the API website at www.primulvot.api.md, where detailed information for first-time voters and comprehensive answers to young people's questions on the elections will be published.
